if you would just look at the countdown timer right above this post, you will realise how awfully close we are to year 2009.
so, to sum up the year, this will be a rather looooooong post.
The big things that happened in 2008: 1. The Guitar Under the influence of my dear ex-ex-roommate Ong Soo Chin, i started playing the guitar and subsequently Feiya got influenced me. In the end all 3 of us each have a guitar, under one roof. :D It's a cool instrument, really, i never regretted learning it.
a band, i suppose? :D
 2. Photographer for Talentnight 2008 My first active role in the boarding school in a major event. This was the start of a new beginning in my Boarding School life. It was here when i started being more active in boarding school, as well as more outgoing. Talentnight '08 was a great success, thanks to all the helpers and the organising committee for their hard work and effort. Kudos to all of you! :D
actually, yu yue, feiya and me auditioned too. just that we didn't get in -.-

Organising Committee, Helpers and Participants (:
3. Organising Committee for Term 2 Formal Dinner 1 Organising Committee. 6 People. 1 Formal Dinner. We were the pioneer batch who took up the role of organisers but were not in the Junior Common Room Committee (JCRC). Of all the brainstorming and planning and meetings and numerous number of editings in our proposal - the big day came, and we gave the Formal Dinner a new look. It had a never before Sports theme, in lieu with the Beijing Olympics. Yours truly was the Publicity Head, so it was a perfect time for me to sharpen my Art skills, haha. Due to the success of this Formal Dinner, the boarding school decided to open up more committees for non-JCRC members. A good way of developing leadership skills, definitely (: Organising Committee with our banner (:
4. Photographer for Boarding School Outing 2008 Ah-ha, another major event of the year. This time's BSO was different - it involved the whole boarding school. It was compulsory for every single boarder, hence making it a large scale event as big as Talentnight, maybe even bigger. There were again numerous meetings and try out sessions for the helpers, don't even mention the organising committee. For them, they experienced hell. The proposal they had to submit could immediately make you faint. And once again, their efforts did not go to waste, and we had a wonderful BSO 2008. My job wasn't that easy too, there was a challenge - I myself had to organise the whole boarding school to take the group shot. Alone. With the wireless mic attached to me, I was nervous at first, but in the end I still managed to do a good job. This was the end product.
NYBGS all the way.
5. Malaysian National Day Celebration Jalur Gemilang! Shiau Haln, Caiyi, Shen Hui and I - each holding one corner of our beloved National Flag, marched in the flag with pride. As we pinned the flag up and sang the National Anthem, Negaraku, one could sense the pride and love all those who were present had - the love for Malaysia, and I pray that this love will never die.
Marching in of our National Flag
6. ASEAN Dance It's a dance nite! More of an eye-opener for me though. And yes, I know I can't dance or waltz for nuts, but at least i learnt. Many interesting things happened, but i shall not elaborate any further. But overall, it was a night to remember.

hahaha.
7. Share-a-thought 3G2 Share-a-thought: Inter-personal Relationship. What's Share-a-thought? It's an activity that is compulsory for all Sec 3s, where each class would be given a topic and we have to produce a skit and perform in front of the entire school. This time I was the father who worked as a doctor, Ruiqi was the mother who worked as a lawyer, and Wanie was our daughter who gets so stressed up due to our high expectations. (Yes, we seem to be like a rich family, haha) i guess you could go figure out the plot yourself, haha.
8. Hentai family Yes, you didn't hear wrongly - HENTAI. We are a family of supposedly Hentai people. The oldest is probably my oldest brother Jack Hentai and his wife Debbie Hentai, followed by my 2nd brother Wilson Hentai and his unknown cinta. I'm the third, and somehow, thanks to Wilson Hentai, my wife is Melissa Hentai and we've got 4 very adorable kids, 2 girls 2 boys. (see previous previous post for their names) Then i have 2 younger sisters, Metta Hentai and Vivian Hentai, who are both sisters in real life and both are single and available. teeheehee, what a fun family :D and by the way, most of our names are changed, and mine was changed to Ryan Hentai.
9. Specialist Course
The course that grooms Part C cadets to be pillars of the unit. Yes, a 4 day course that happily clashes with my birthday. Hence I celebrated my 15th birthday in the School of Infantry Specialists situated in Pasir Laba Camp - otherwise known as SISPEC. My birthday present? A birthday wish from Charlie '08, a 2nd Sergeant rank, an Army-NCC badge or otherwise known as the cookie, and getting nominated for an award. To top it off all, I did a satisfying job during the mutual tests and made the officers proud of me by being a good I/C. A 15th birthday i will never forget, really (:
Passing Out Parade.
10. Part B NCO When Charlie '08 took over Crescent NCC, it was a moment I will never forget. We now hold more responsibilities, and we are now the role models. We all worked hard for this day, the day we are called Specialists. Took over as Part B Platoon Sergeant, together with my cute partner Chih-Yin. We have 20 adorable cadets that forms Alpha '08 :D
We Are Ready.
11. Singapore Youth Festival Opening Ceremony 2008
My 2nd major NCC Parade after NCC Day Parade 2007, and my 2nd time donning the prestigious No. 1 uniform or known as the ceremonial uniform. SYFOC was a blast and an experience we will never forget. Together with a contingent of wonderful people, we form the SYFOC NCC Girls Guard-of-Honour Contingent - the best of the best. This parade was a mark in history - it was the first ever indoor parade (it was held in Singapore Indoor Stadium) and we had the first ever female Parade Commander, Ma'am Zarifah :D
Marching in with pride and glory.
12. Commandant NCC Change of Command Parade
This was the first parade in which i applied for parade appointment holder. As the Land Flag Escort, i had a great time in the Colours Party, and being at the forefront of the parade. Met many new friends and it was another unforgettable experience as a parade appointment holder (:
Land Appointment Holders.
13. 56th Cadet Officers Course Graduation Parade A parade that was less than 10 days away from the Commandant COC Parade. I applied for Parade Appointment Holder again, this time as a Conducting Specialist. It was a chance for me to experience how holding a pacestick is like, improve my commanding and witness a graduation parade. Working with Joycelin was cool, she did the eyes front command while I did the eyes right command. Overall, i had another awesome experience again, and getting a compliment from Ma'am Debbie was the most satisfying of all (:
The Parade Appointment Holders.
14. CHARLIE ‘08
From Bravo '07 to Charlie '08. But no matter what we are, UNITED WE STAND :D
U.W.S (:
15. 107th NCC Challenge Quest Yep, a competition that we have trained very very hard for. And our efforts paid off - we achieved 1st in Overall. Good job everyone!
16. B317 The room that almost everyone wants to stay in. We named ourselves the Chipmunks of B317, and I was Theodore. I had the best time in my life staying in there with my 2 roommates, we all shared common interests, and we did everything together. Playing guitar was our favourite pastime of all (: it was also a room where people called "the Boys' Hostel"...
Simon, Theodore & Alvin
17. The Lord I accepted the Lord, together with my mum. :D
18. Pets!
The first time in my life i have pets of my own. 2 pet turtles, Michelangelo and Leonardo. Too bad both died this year :(
I buried Michelangelo in my garden.
19. Orientation Video Instead of briefings and briefings and more briefings on the rules and regulations for new boarders, Boarding School came up with an excellent idea to get these rules into the boarders heads - through a comedy-like video. There were 3 characters - a girl, an angel and a devil. Common sense tells you that they will put me as the devil -.-
20. Boarding School Life To sum it all up, i had the most wonderful Boarding School Life this year. i met many many many new friends and boarding school is the most pleasant place to live in. haha, and of course, i now know the Indonesians, who are very very very nice people (:

Indonesian National Day Celebration
21. Chingay Parade The O Level art students, under the guidance of Ms Tricia Goh, attended the mascot making workshop where our instructor is an Irish guy. The theme was Insects, so we had to make Insect mascots and our final product would be displayed in the Chingay Parade 2008. and lucky for me, our group's mascot was measured according to my size, and on the final day of our workshop, i was interviewed and I appeared on TV in the news. ok, time to stop my egoism, TEEHEEHEE :D.

this is my favourite picture cos i look the tallest. buzzzz (:
22. OBS To serve, to strive and not to yield. The time where i had the most wonderful watchmates ever. MARCO POLO WATCH! and we have the lamest instructor ever, Sam. those were probably the best 5 days of my life, although for some people it was the opposite. I love OBS and Marco Polo! :D

Marco Polo (: at our final checkpoint.

1st day at OBS, group photo with our instructor Sam.
23. Perth trip the 5-day Inter-uniformed group trip to Perth, Australia. it was very very very fun! and of course i love the weather the most. winterrr! the most enjoyable was that Charlie'08 was there. I love Perth (:
Charlie's lunch by the lake (:
